Comfortable clothes your child can move in! Jazz shoes are recommended but grippy socks or indoor running shoes are okay as well.Water Bottle (no other liquids except water please) and a small binder.

We encourage independence and our space is one giant room, so parents are welcome to wait outside or in their cars nearby or return at the end of class. We’ll have special parent viewing days during the season so you can see your child’s progress.
What is drop-off and parking like?
ON POINTE DANCE STUDIO KELOWNA
There is free parallel parking available at On Pointe Dance Studio on the lower side of the building, There is also many spots available at Okanagan Gold Club a bit further down the road. Please allow a few extra minutes during busy times as spots can fill up when classes are switching. Parents can drop off their child at the main entrance by turning right onto Via Centrale looping at the cul de sac and dropping off in front of the pavilion. Please do not park there, this is a drop off only zone. Parents are also welcome to wait outside the building with their child, there is a covered sidewalk that wraps around the building (not ideal in the winter). We will always use the first 5 minutes and last 5 minutes of classes for class switching.
OKANAGAN CENTRE HALL
There is a dirt parking lot above the Hall, the entrance is down the cement stairs on the right side of the building (if you are looking from the parking lot)
What if my child is nervous?
That’s totally normal! We are experienced in making first-timers feel comfortable. We always welcome parents to hang around if their child needs them the first few times to feel settled.
Is there a recital or performance?
With this being our second year, we are starting small with plans to grow in the future. At the end of Semester 1, our musical theatre classes will put on a mini Christmas showcase for close friends and family at the Okanagan Centre Hall Stage.
Are there refunds?
Please take the time to review our Payment Policy page for more information on this.
Can we try a class before committing?
Yes! we’re happy to offer a trial class so your child can experience Spotlight Studios before committing to the full season. However, keep in mind that it can take a few weeks for kids to feel comfortable and really into the routine, so one class may not give the full picture of how much they’ll grow and enjoy the program over time. We charge $20/child to trial a class and that can be paid by transfer before the beginning of class or by cash before the end of class.
What is the costume fee for?
The costume fee helps cover the cost of your child’s performance outfit for our end of season showcase. We keep this fee as low as possible while ensuring costumes are fun, comfortable and help students feel special! Most costumes are rentals or outsourced to a seamstress and will need to be returned or added to our costume closet unless otherwise stated by the teacher.
